Procurement & Supply Chain Manager

Reporting directly to the President/CEO, this role will lead a purchasing team responsible for steel procurement, MRO, and outside processing — while building the broader supply chain infrastructure, data-driven processes, and organizational capability that will carry Wrought Washer through its next stage of growth.

Purchasing & Supplier Management

  • Lead all steel purchasing — coil, slit coil, hot roll, cold roll, and sheet — managing supplier relationships, pricing negotiations, and material availability to support production schedules
  • Work closely with slitting and sheeting partners to ensure timely delivery, correct specifications, and cost-effective processing of raw material
  • Oversee MRO procurement and outside processing suppliers (plating, heat treat, laser, and secondary operations) through a purchasing team you will actively develop and grow
  • Identify and qualify alternative or backup suppliers to reduce single-source risk across steel and critical services

Building the Procurement & Supply Chain Function

  • Implement an S&OP process that connects purchasing decisions to production planning, demand signals, and inventory targets — creating a rhythm the whole business can rely on
  • Establish procurement KPIs and reporting: supplier on-time delivery, purchase price variance, inventory turns, lead times, and spend by category
  • Develop reorder point logic and safety stock models to reduce stockouts and excess inventory across raw material and key MRO items
  • Leverage Plex ERP to improve data integrity, purchasing workflows, and inventory visibility across the organization
  • Document and standardize processes so they are repeatable, auditable, and scalable as headcount and revenue grow
  • Partner with operations, engineering, and the president on sourcing strategy, capital purchases, and long-range supply chain planning

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years in procurement or supply chain within a manufacturing environment
  • Direct experience buying steel — flat rolled, coil, slit, or sheet — and working with mills or service centers
  • Familiarity with slitting, sheeting, or metal processing supply chains
  • Experience building or improving S&OP, demand planning, or inventory management processes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a purchasing team
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with ERP/MRP systems — Plex experience is a plus
  • Experience with outside processing suppliers (plating, stamping, secondary services) preferred

Who You Are:

  • A builder — energized by creating structure and process, not just maintaining what exists
  • Data-driven — you use metrics to manage suppliers, inventory, and your own performance
  • Collaborative — you communicate clearly across functions and work well in a lean, fast-moving environment
  • Ownership mentality — you act like it’s your business, because in many ways this function will be
  • Growth-oriented — you’re motivated by what this role can become, not just what it is on day one
