Under general supervision of the Shift Supervisor this position is responsible for the set up and operating of all equipment in Finishing Department in a safe and productive manner based on Company processes and customer needs and quality.


Essential Functions

  • Must be able to interpret manufacturing orders to determine required finishing of individual parts.
  • Legibly complete all paperwork associated with job.
  • Perform all material handling duties associated with the above job and equipment.
  • Keep equipment and work area neat and orderly.
  • Must be able to inspect washers or stampings as to size, finish, type of material, commercial tolerances, and conformity to customer blueprints and specifications.
  • Must be able to perform accurate piece/weight counts.
  • Identify and tag parts that do not meet specifications and route to appropriate rework area as required.
  • Identify and tag acceptable parts and route to next operation per manufacturing order.
  • Prepare labels to correctly mark cartons with order number, part number, number of pieces as required by customer specifications or manufacturing orders.
  • Package, when necessary, in a safe and productive manner.
  • Properly load trucks for shipment and prepare bill of ladings.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
  • Maintain the quality levels set by customers and our Quality Assurance Dept.
  • Must work in an efficient manor to provide consistent quality and output
  • Other department duties may be assigned to maintain consistency and effectiveness of the department.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Prior manufacturing experience preferably in finishing and inspection.
  • Knowledge of safe working practices.
  • Fork truck operation desired.
  • Ability to read, write and maintain the daily manufacturing paperwork.
  • Computer and data entry skills.
  • Fast and accurate with basic math functions.
  • Use inspection equipment (micrometer, caliper, indicator, radius gauges, pin gauges, hardness tester, etc.).

Journeyman Machine Repair – Weekend Shift 1st

Under general supervision of the Maintenance Management the person will modify, repair, rebuild, install and maintain a broad range of equipment and machine tools used in the manufacturing process requiring a broad knowledge of mechanics, welding, machine design, machining practices and techniques, fitting and assembly and knowledge in electrical, machine controls, and PLC’s.


Essential Functions

  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and operating difficulties, mechanical and electrical, effect repairs and adjustments either temporary to maintain productivity or permanent if required or feasible.
  • Rebuild machines to include disassembly, inspection, machining of new, repair of existing or replacement with purchased parts, reassembly and run in to insure proper repair and function.
  • Layout, fabricate and weld fixtures, assemblies, frames and structures used in the manufacturing process.
  • Perform skilled operations such as fitting and aligning bearings, spindles and shafts, scrap ways, fit, align and calibrate moving parts to insure proper fit, alignment and operation.
  • Work from drawings, manufacturers specifications and handbook formulas to perform assignments.
  • Work with minimum supervision and with general guidance on abnormal projects.
  • Act as a project leader on jobs; assign work to personnel in lower classifications and assist with ongoing training of such personnel.
  • Fork truck, crane operation, and material handling as necessary to perform duties.
  • Other department duties may be assigned to maintain consistency and effectiveness of the department.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • 3+ years’ machine repair experience with accredited journeyman apprenticeship.
  • Knowledge of electrical diagrams and troubleshooting, machining technology, mechanical principles, materials application, advanced shop mathematics, job layout and precision measurement, setups, tool applications, operating methods and machining characteristics of materials.
  • Application of safe working practices.
  • Fork truck experience.
